Renaud Wiser Dance Company presents captivating and highly crafted dance productions. Set up as a platform for Wiser’s choreographic research, the work performed by the company draw on our current societal context and reflect on the forces that shape our modern society and that influence and define human relationships and interactions. The company brings together artists from a range of disciplines including music, digital technology, film and visual arts and has recently extended its programme to invite guest choreographers and offer its audiences a broader view of the dance that is being made today.
Our interactions with virtual worlds rapidly evolve and re-shape many of our human interactions. With Smoke Screens, Renaud Wiser invites a team of artists to explore with him the tensions and opportunities emerging from the fusion of real and digital and re-imagine the powerful connections that draw us towards the virtual. The company’s most ambitious production to date brings together in one evening two new creations of live dance: The Disappearing Act by Renaud Wiser with original music scores by Oliver Coates, Glitch... this site is currently under construction by Patricia Okenwa with original music scores by Feeder drummer Geoff Holroyde and Camouflage, a Virtual Reality installation devised by Okenwa in collaboration with Digital Artists Mária Júdová and Andrej Boleslavský. After an interactive VR experience, where the audience can be at the centre of the action, an extraordinary cast of international dance artists (Clara Villalba (NDT2 and Hofesh Shechter) - Ihsaan De Banya (Richard Alston) - Clementine Telesfort (Guy Nader | Maria Campos)) perform the delicately crafted works by Wiser and Okenwa.
